For example, silicone sealants typically skin over in 30 minutes to 2 hours and fully cure in 24 – 48 hours at room temperature; polyurethane sealants skin over in 1 – 3 hours and fully cure in 24 – 72 hours. (2) Environmental Conditions
Sealants perform best in temperatures between 5°C and 40°C and humidity levels of 40% – 80%. Extreme temperatures or high humidity can affect performance and curing. In winter, pre-warm the sealant indoors; in summer, avoid direct sunlight and apply during cooler parts of the day.
(3) Safety Precautions
Handle sealants with care to avoid skin and eye contact. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention.
